New British Airways premium economy & economy seats & in flight entertainment

10th Apr 2010

New British Airways seats

British Airways are revamping the seats at the back of the plane, with a makeover for World Traveller and World Traveller Plus. Both economy and Premium Economy will gain a new inflight entertainment system, and new seats.

British Airways say they are retaining the privacy and exclusivity of the World Traveller Plus service, with elegant furnishings and a timeless colour palette create a warm and premium environment, while luxurious patterns and textures evoke a stylish and contemporary feel. The new seat has an adjustable hammock-style headrest and slightly more recline.

In this Premium Economy cabin, there is a new version of BAs in-flight entertainment, including a video touch screen that is 60 per cent larger than the current screen, two USB ports and an RCA port, so you can use your own electronic devices with the in-flight entertainment system, and an in-seat power socket to power your devices throughout the flight. The number of films, television programmes and music is also being increased.

World Traveller also gets a slight upgrade, with a video touch screen that is 35 per cent larger than the current screen, and fresh white walls contrast with cool, neutral colours and textures, resulting in a clean and contemporary ambience.

The new World Traveller Plus and World Traveller experience is available right now on the latest addition to BAs fleet, the state-of-the-art Boeing 777-300ER, operating on selected flights to and from Bombay (Mumbai), Chicago, Delhi and Dubai. Two more fully fitted brand-new 777-300ERs will enter service by the end of 2010, with further additions to the fleet scheduled throughout 2011 and 2012.
