Malaysia Airlines has finally fully reopened it's lounges at the airline's Kuala Lumpur hub, a full two years after partially closing them for a refit.
Malaysia Airlines Kuala Lumpur lounges have now fully reopened, with the last of the lounges to be refitted, the the flagship International 'Golden Lounges' in the satellite building at KLIA, now complete.
It is in effect the main Malaysia Airlines Kuala Lumpur Business Class lounge. It is joined by similar styling in the refreshed domestic and regional lounges, which are situated in the main terminal building.
Within the core International 'Golden Lounges' is a First Class lounge, called the Platinum first class lounge, accessible for First Class and top level Oneworld fliers, including, confusingly, British Airways Gold Frequent Flyers.
The Platinum Lounge still continues to offer a seated, waited, fine dining experience, plus an open kitchen and Laksa Bar, with the spicy Malaysian noodle dish on offer.
Other features of the Malaysia Airlines Kuala Lumpur Platinum first class lounge include showers, a sleeping area, and amazingly, still, a cigar room.
Back on the Business Class side, which is on the left hand side of reception, there is still a small, staffed bar immediately as you walk in on the left. This is separate from the main part of the lounge which offers the usual business class lounge offerings such as a self-service buffet, business centre and showers, plus a smoking room and even a small children's play room.
The lounge also boasts USB and power sockets at almost every seat, with rattan cane style armchairs which mix both modern and traditional styles to add a unique design flourish to the space.
