New Delta Los Angeles Sky Club Lounge
The brand new 30,000 square feet Delta Sky Club at Los Angeles Airport is among the largest in the Delta network, with seats for 800 passengers. Part of the first phase of the new so called 'Delta Sky Way' terminal at LAX, the joint $2.3 billion investment in partnership with Los Angeles World Airports is scheduled for completion next year.
Inspired by the city, its coastline, and the golden age of Hollywood, the Delta Sky Club at LAX offers plenty of places to sit, with a 'multiple rooms within a lounge' concept. Most of the areas have great views of the airport apron, extending to the distant city with benches and tables overlooking the runway. There is also theatre style seating for viewing the cinema style media wall.
There are quite a few destinations within the lounge, including the Coffee Grotto, a nook that offers a glamorous peek into the ambience of Hollywood's Golden Age with an exquisite mosaic mural featuring glass tiles imported from Italy.
Business wise, there are private phone booths and even a large meeting room for corporate travellers.
The bathrooms include a nursing room, oversized family restrooms and eight spacious showers managed via a virtual queuing system.
The Gallery at LAX features pieces curated through Delta Sky Club's art program and include digital creations, sculpture and large-scale mixed media works featuring local L.A. artists.
The most welcome feature of the Club is the Sky Deck, a year-round, all-weather terrace where passengers can enjoy cocktails at sunset, and panoramic views of downtown Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills.
The entrance to the new Delta Sky Club at LAX begins in the downstairs lobby, where there are five self-service kiosk stations. Then you ascend the giant staircase (or take the lift), passing under the wooden ceiling fixtures modelled after ocean waves before arriving at the custom wood-screened area that marks the Club's entrance.
"Planning for this Delta Sky Club began back in 2018 and every detail - from the seating to the food and beverage offerings to the premium design - was selected to create a one-of-a-kind experience for guests," said Claude Roussel, Managing Director, Delta Sky Club. "Whether guests visit the new Delta Sky Club to dine, work or simply enjoy the views, they'll find much to love in this world-class lounge for a world-class airport."
At the moment the existing lounge will also remains open (the former Air Canada lounge), however upon completion in 2023, Terminals 2 and 3 will be a consolidated 27-gate, 1.2-million-square-foot complex that connects Terminals 2 and 3 to the Tom Bradley International Terminal (Terminal B), enabling quick post-security connections to Delta and Delta partner-operated flights.
