British Airways has unveiled a brand-new lounge in Aberdeen Airport.
The British Airways Aberdeen lounge, located within the recently completed extension of the airport, is the second to open under the airline's new design concept. This follows the recent unveiling of the first in the new series of lounges at Rome's Fiumicino Airport.
The airline has created zones throughout the 380sq metre lounge to suit all customers' needs. The lobby has been designed so that customers travelling through the lounge quickly, can get a quick bite to eat before they head off for their flight. For those customers with more dwell time, the airline has created a relaxing ambience with seating overlooking the runway.
The lounge houses bespoke furniture and fittings such as the feature walls, lighting and marble topped tables. Similar to the airline's new lounge in Rome, the feature piece of the lounge is the beautifully crafted granite topped bar, allowing customers to enjoy a drink from the wide range of beverages on offer.
British Airways' new Aberdeen lounge also features local artwork from the airline's Art Collection, including 'The Long Winding Shores' by Maddie Rose Hills inspired by Kinlochewe in the Scottish Highlands.
Sarah Klatt-Walsh, British Airways' Head of Product, said: "We are committed to investing in our lounges as part of our £4.5bn investment programme and are delighted to be opening the next one in the series in Aberdeen.
"Our new design concept has been created to make better use of the space in our lounges, while still making it feel contemporary and luxurious. We have focused on technology, offering complimentary WiFi and ensuring there is plenty of access to USB and power points, enabling customers to work, surf online and charge personal devices.
"We have already had really positive feedback from customers who have experienced our new lounge in Rome, and we think those travelling through Aberdeen will love the new look and feel."
Throughout the day there will be a wide range of food on offer. Those travelling on early morning flights will be able to enjoy local delicacy, Aberdeen Rowies (a savoury Scottish bread roll), which will be on offer for breakfast.
British Airways' New York JFK Terminal 7 will be the next lounge to open under the new design concept, with improvements being made there to the customer experience at check-in. The airline also has further investment planned in Geneva, San Francisco, Johannesburg, Chicago and its lounges at Heathrow.
