Brussels Airlines has hugely expanded it's The Loft lounge at Brussels airport, doubling the size to over 2,000 square yards, and now it can accommodate over 500 passengers, with a small lounge within lounge, a VIP area for HON Circle members.
There is also a game room with a red velvet pool table, a Grohe spa with 11 bathrooms and private nap rooms inspired by the airline's forthcoming new long-haul business class offering.
The new expansion was designed in partnership with Japanese luxury car brand Lexus, and showcases objects from the Lexus design awards, and follows the traditions omotenashi, the Japanese concept of hospitality.
Lux-traveller reported on the opening of the original Brussels Loft Lounge, but now it has been vastly expanded.
Food wise there is a Miele kitchen offering what the airline says is "an array of the finest gastronomy".
The lounge also has a game room with a pool table covered in red velvet, and a massage area with Panasonic relax chairs which simulate "the Shiatsu treatment available in the seating of the new Lexus LS sedan".
Brussels Airlines has also incorporated elements including historical items from the Tintin universe, such as food by Belgian caterer Newrest, coffee by family-owned company Rombouts, chocolates by Neuhaus, and beers from AB inBev at the Belgian Bar.
The Loft by Brussels Airlines is located within Pier A at Brussels airport, and is designed for Schengen (inter-Europe) flights. There is also another lounge run by Brussels airlines, called the Suite lounge within Pier B at the airport.
