
British Airways has welcomed the two new aircraft types to its fleet, and the aircraft are now flying daily on their first routes.
BA has seen the the launch of the UK flag-carrier's first Airbus A380 superjumbo and Boeing 787 Dreamliner at London's Heathrow Airport.
The aircraft are are part of a ten-year upgrade to the airline's long-distance fleet, which will include retiring the older and less fuel-efficient Boeing 747-400 jumbos.
British Airways Airbus A380 is already flying between Heathrow and Los Angeles and LHR to Hong Kong.
Meanwhile the British Airways Boeing 787 is on routes to Toronto and Newark.
A further 18 Boeing 787-9 and more Airbus A350 are on order, and British Airways is also buying six new Boeing 777-300ERs.
Keith Williams, the Chief Exec of British Airways says "Over the next 12 months, we will take delivery of new long-haul aircraft at an average rate of one every two weeks".
