The new Emirates Rome Lounge is now open. It has great views over the runway, a buffet and dining area, prayer room, shower facilities, a business centre, and a bar.
The brand-new Rome Emirates Lounge has great views over the runway, and vast floor to ceiling windows.
There are plenty of comfortable leather armchairs and a choice of formal or relaxed seating, with the usual design of Emirates armchairs, and the slightly new design now seen at Melbourne and Gatwick, with brown leather swivel chairs.
The new lounge has direct boarding facility onto the aircraft, for the twice daily flights to Dubai, including the morning A380 and evening 777.
There is the usual buffet area, around a round fridge with small plates, and a dining area with 1+1 seating. The buffet has been tweaked for the region, including a variety of Italian and Roman specialities which changes with the seasons. There is also a Children's menu.
Alcohol is available all day, including self-pour champagne.
The lounge is furnished with Italian marble floors, plus designer blue carpet, Gold Rolex clocks and mahogany room dividers.
With room for 162 passengers across almost 900 square yards of space, the new lounge replaces the old rather airlines lounge which was opened only 4 years ago, and which was just after passport control in terminal 3.
The new lounge is located in a more convenient area of the airport terminal, and allow those in Business and First Class to board directly onto the aircraft. The Emirates Rome Lounge is in Terminal 3, Level 2, close to gates E22-E24.
