Emirates has opened its latest airport lounge at Boston Airport in the US. The 41st Emirates lounge worldwide and fourth in the US, has a business centre, shower facilities, a complementary bar and dining area.
Emirates has opened a new dedicated lounge at Boston Logan International Airport, even though it has cut back services to the US city.
The new Emirates Boston Lounge has cost nearly seven million dollars, but comes as the airline cust its twice daily service to Boston to one flight per day to Boston Logan International.
Features include a large shower suite, a business centre and free wifi throughout the lounge, a prayer room and and seating for 123 passengers.
A dining area will include a menu of complimentary hot and cold gourmet buffet, including local and international dishes. There is also a small bar area, with wines from American vineyards.
Shower spa products come from the new range by Irish brand Voya.
The 695 square meter lounge for the Dubai airline is located on the upper level of Terminal E, overlooking gate E-11, and offers boarding directly from the lounge.
The lounge had a soft opening in April 2017, and is now open to Emirates first and business class travellers and platinum and gold members of Skywards.
"This is Emirates' fourth dedicated airport lounge in the US and a demonstration of our ongoing commitment to serving passengers traveling through our US gateways," said Mohammed Mattar, vice president Airport Services for Emirates.
"Boston becomes our 41st dedicated lounge worldwide and we will continue to invest in upgrading this product."
Emirates started flying to Boston in 2014 and in October 2015, started a second daily service to the US city with a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to meet additional demand.
However, Emirates announced in April this year that it would reduce services to one daily flight from June, as part of wider route cuts to the US.
