Swiss International Air Lines has opened a second First Class lounge at Zurich airport, located in Terminal A.

The new Swiss Air Lines First Class lounge at Zurich airport covers 600 square yards (or 7,000 square feet), and features both a check-in area and dedicated security channel, so that eligible passengers can have a more seamless experience.

Accessible via an escalator from the concourse, the first think you notice about the lounge is a walk-up cocktail bar, which is open all day. There is also an a la carte restaurant with theatre cooking, showers, a children's room, a business zone with a private meeting room, and plenty of leather armchairs.

There is also a lot of wood. Wood on the floors, walls, and even the ceiling, all designed to give what is called a 'lounge club' type atmosphere, designed in the style of the existing SWISS First Lounge in the airport's Terminal E.

There is also a smokers' lounge with its own outside section and a choice of fine whiskies.

With its bright oiled-oak parquet floor, its Jura limestone walls and its elegant furnishings by Swiss designers such as Vitra and de Sede, the new lounge exudes an ambience of refined exclusivity.

The centrepiece of the new Swiss First Lounge A is its extensive barista bar, at which guests can sample various speciality coffees and choose from over 100 Swiss grappas and further fruit brandies.

The new Swiss First Lounge A is primarily intended for top tier HON Circle level Frequent Flyer card holders before a short-haul flight in the Schengen area of the terminal, used for flights within Europe.

Swiss will also be offering an exclusive new service this summer to its First Class customers arriving in Terminal E, in Terminal B or at a remote aircraft stand. The new chauffeur service will collect the customer from the aircraft door and take them directly to the relevant passport or security control in Terminal A or B.

The lounge Zurich First Class lounge will be open daily from 5:30AM until 10:30PM.

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) serves over 100 destinations in 43 countries worldwide from Zurich and Geneva and carrying some 16.5 million passengers a year with its 91-aircraft fleet.
