Air France has unveiled their new A330 business class cabin. Their new cabin promises to be brighter and airier, and the seats finally lie flat, however there is no direct aisle access.
Air France has launched its new A330 cabin, a brand new Business Class cabin with new lie flat seats, plus a new premium economy, and uprated economy cabins.
The Air France A330 business class seats are 6'5" long in recline mode, and are 22.5 inches wide. However, the 2-2-2 layout means there isn't direct aisle access from every seat. Air France say the retractable privacy panel means they are very private, but the seats are definitely last generation, with most airlines moving onto single seats for solo travellers.
Air France have however entered the new millennium, with seats which recline to a completely flat, level, bed, unlike the previous recliners which most airlines abandoned over a decade ago. Air France's partner airline KLM have also introduced lie flat on their A330s.
Air France have also started to catch up with other airlines, with better inflight entertainment. There is a brand new 18.5-inch HD touch-screens, offering over 1,400 hours of entertainment, plus an uprated better handset.
The Business Class cabin also has a small self-service bar.
A total of 15 aircraft will be retrofitted with 36 seats in Business, 21 seats in Premium Economy and 167 seats in Economy, with all of them being completed in 2020.
In Premium Economy, the airline has improved on the new Air France Boeing 787 Premium Economy, with an extra storage bin and slightly glaring patterned seat fabric, softer seat cushions and wider leather armrests.
At the back of the bus, in economy, the seat is pretty standard, with a 31 inch seat pitch, 118 degree recline, and a 11.7-inch (29.8 cm) 16:9 touch screen. However, the seats are even more in your face, with an electric blue fabric and a bright red blanket.
There are power sockets in every seat, and Wi-Fi throughout their flight.
