Singapore Airlines axe Canberra to Wellington

Singapore Airlines is shaking up its Canberra flights, only a year after the airline launched the Capital Express service from Singapore to Wellington via Canberra.

The new flights to Wellington will now run via Melbourne, again four times a week from the 3rd of May 2018.

The means the new Capital Express service from Singapore to Wellington via Canberra will have lasted only a year.

Meanwhile Canberra will now gain a daily flight from Singapore - but with a dog-leg via Sydney, with the daily SQ228 flying from Sydney at 2120, touching down again for 55 minutes in Canberra at 2220, and arriving in Singapore at 0515 the next morning.

The flight is being upgraded to a Boeing 777-300ER with First Class and Premium Economy.
